Gallery of Iraqi artist Afifa Aleiby in Rijswijk
On 20/05/2017 the Arab-Dutch Women Organization has organized a visit to the fantastic gallery of Iraqi artist Afifa Aleiby in Rijswijk, in the presence of the alderwoman of Rijswijk Ms. Marloes Borsboom, the Iraqi Ambassador and Spouse and many members of the ANVK.

- The recorded Welcome Speech by Chairman Mr. Helmi Tatanaki Mr. Helmi Tatanaki is from Libya Graduated from Durham University as a Geophysicist. Helmi has been working for Shell Int. as Subsurface Data Management for 10 years. He has 8 years of experience as an instructor and a Public Speaker. He is an active member in the Toastmasters Organization and has been a president of a Toastmasters Club in Rijswijk since 2015. He is a certified Motivational Speaker and a Life Coach.

- The speech of Mr. Abdelouahab Bellouki, (Written and recorded) He has been a lawyer and a diplomat for 40 years, worked in many cities around the world, such as Geneva, New York, and Oslo. His last position was in the foreign Ministry of The Kingdom of Morocco as a Director of Protocol. He has been an Ambassador for 20 years, since April 2013 he has been the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco in The Hague. Mr. Bellouki entertained us with his speech titled, Women in Morocco: Between rights and ambitions.

- The speech of Mrs. Lyda Verstegen, (Written and recorded) The second speech of the day was given by Mrs. Lyda Verstegen, “My Life with the Laws". She is a Dutch lawyer since 1959, was a member of political party, assistant to the Clark of the second chamber, a diplomat’s wife in Poland, Washington and Switzerland. A member of the oldest Dutch organization for Women’s rights and political rights. President of International Allaince of Women, and since 2013 IAW representative at UN Geneva.

- The Report of the Occasion of Women's International Day 18 March 2017 - The Hague (Arab and Dutch Women Rethinking Their Lives).
- The recording of Mrs. Tomador Hasson the president of the ANVK with her opening speech.
"International Women’s Day, as the name implies, is a day to celebrate womanhood, their social, political, cultural, political, economic achievements and their significant contributions to society, while placing importance on gender equality. People across the world come together to commemorate women — not just well-known personalities, but also each woman who plays a pivotal part in the shaping of their lives. The day has come to be increasingly associated with feminism and equal rights for women. It asserts the equal freedoms and rights that women have access to just like men".
This was the conclusion that the Chairman Mr. Helmi tatanaki concluded the event with, and the president of ANVK Mrs. Tomader Hasson expressed her sincere gratitude to all who made this event a successful one, and she presented flowers and gifts to all speakers.

- The recorded speech of Mrs., Raya Abu Gulal , She was born in Baghdad and grew up between the Netherlands and UK and is educated in both countries. She is an experience corporate lawyer, co-founder of the Women Lawyers Group-Middle East. Her practice covers a broad range of corporate and commercial work. She is very active in various women development initiatives in the MENA region and member of various UAE business groups. The third speech of the day was given by Mrs., Raya Abu Gulal “Legal Challenges and obstacles for women in the Arab Region”.

- The recoded speech of Mrs. Wasma Alhusainy, She comes from Jordan and has two jobs, she works as Toxicologist for Shell in the Hague and at night she works as a mom an adorable 5 years old boy. She is expert at assessing the risks of the chemicals on human health and advising on their safe use. When she is not glued to her computer or cooking in her kitchen, she enjoys singing and writing about science communication. The fourth and last speech of the day was be given by Mrs. Wasma Alhusainy title: “A scientist in the morning, a mother in the evening”.

Women's International Day and Arabic Mother's Day
On the occasion of Women's International Day and Arabic Mother's Day, The ANVK is pleased
to invite you to a special event marking the two days. The event will take place on the 19th of March 2016.

Heritage in Danger in Iraq & Syria
Join the lectures and discussion through this conference about 'destruction and pillage of
cultural heritage in Syrian and Iraq', organized by the Arabic-Dutch Women Circle (ANVK)
with lectures by three experts.
The conference aims to send a message to government circles, NGOs, UNESCO and EU to protect
and safeguard this heritage.
